The Second Holocaust

70-85 million in total dead. That is the estimate of how many lives were lost during the holocaust. 73 million dead. That is the approximate number of abortions each year. Both situations happened because of several things. 1) Someone belittled life of a certain type of human to make excuses for murdering them. 2) Those involved with doing the killings were desensitized slowly with lies until it became more and more acceptable in their mind for them to perform executions. 3) The true horror and degree of horror was covered up as much as possible to make the destruction of human life more palatable.
Murder, suicide, destruction. These are things that rarely happen suddenly, and rarely happen in great numbers without great help. Not only is a deed done with many, but it is overcome with many. Revelation speaks of the sheer number of human lives that will die near the coming end. I believe that this is part of that. Whether Christ is returning today, tomorrow, or in years to come I do not know. But as long as believers and Christ followers are here, we are commanded to stand up for those who cannot fight for themselves.
The lines between those who follow Christ and those who deny him are blurred by those who choose to become a “Christian” to feel good about themselves and show up once a week or just on nice occasions. The battle ground gets more fierce every day in combat. Soldiers may claim a side but forget to put on the armor daily. When people look at them and have no idea to which army they belong, it becomes increasingly difficult to fight. When soldiers can’t be bothered to care for their armor, it makes the entire army they claim to be a member of seem less creditable. Claiming you are a believer may or may not have anything to do with whether you follow Christ.

I am not here to yell at those who are living the lukewarm lie. Shoving something down other people’s throats is a far cry from the way Christ shared His love. He spoke truth yes, but in wisdom, truth, grace, and love. I am here to speak to those who have chosen the holy fire. Do not give up. Keep fighting. Do not forget what it means to be a believer. Remember that God calls us to cherish human life, to fight for the weak, to encourage our fellow believers, to reach out to the sick and broken, and to pursue Him EVERY SIGNLE day. Because guess what ladies and gentlemen? The children of this world are everyone’s business. The massacre of human life is everyone’s concern. And the defense of the oppressed who cannot speak for themselves is everyone’s duty. This does not mean that everyone’s role is to focus just on this one thing. There are many things in this world that God calls us to, and we each have gifts. But this is real, horrific, and effects-us all whether we realize the impact yet or not.
This is something that as believers, we should all be fighting in in some way. I implore you to seek Christ. Seek what the living word says rather than what is comfortable or what the world says. Seek truth rather than man’s opinion. Seek the Spirit rather than what you feel. Seek to remove all remnants of blinders, even if the shutters of this world are a far more comfortable sight to see.
